Six broad routes exist. Each has its own evidence, its own assessing body and its own conditions, and qualifying under one says nothing about the others.

Investors

People placing capital in the UAE, including through property. Evidence centres on the asset, how it was funded and that it is genuinely held by you.

Entrepreneurs

Founders of businesses meeting defined criteria, often with an accredited body attesting to the venture rather than the applicant self-certifying.

Specialised Talent

Doctors, scientists, engineers and other professionals, generally requiring recognition or accreditation from a competent authority in the field.

How much do I need to invest to qualify?

It depends on the category, and we will not print a figure here. Thresholds differ between investment routes, are set by the authority and have been revised more than once. Anyone quoting you a single number without knowing your category is repeating something they read. Check the government's own golden visa page for the current position.

Do I need to own a business to get one?

No. Business ownership is one route among several. Doctors, scientists, engineers, creative professionals and outstanding students each have their own routes that do not require you to own a company at all. If you have been assuming you need to start a business to qualify, that assumption may be costing you.

Can you guarantee I will get one?

No, and treat anyone who says otherwise as a reason to walk away. The decision belongs to the issuing authority, and several categories run through a nominating body first. What we can do is establish whether you fit a category and make sure the evidence is complete before an application is made.

How is it different from my current investor visa?

A company-sponsored investor visa rests on your shareholding, so it ends if the company does. A golden visa is held in your own right against a published category. If you already hold a company-sponsored visa, our investor visa requirements page covers that route and how the two compare.

Can I sponsor my family on it?

Dependant sponsorship is generally available, and it is one of the main practical attractions. Each dependant carries their own conditions and document set, including attested marriage and birth certificates. We handle dependant applications alongside the principal rather than as a later exercise.

What happens if the basis I qualified on ends?

If you sell the asset or leave the role your category rested on, your position can be affected, so it is worth understanding the conditions attached to your specific category rather than treating the visa as unconditional. Tell us before you make the change, not after.
